SG10 300 LH ratio 5.6 Savage Gear casting reel

Left handle

Representing the best of Savage Gear's technology and innovation, the flagship model of our baitcasting reels is called SG10. It is packed with ideas and innovations to help you achieve your fishing goals. In addition to the obvious impressive features, such as 10+1 stainless steel ball bearings, a machined gear, DuraGrease, and an aluminum frame + housing (super strong and rigid), the real highlight of this SG10 BC remains the external centrifugal brake. This brake makes casting easier and especially helps when fighting a big fish, increases casting distance, reduces the number of backlashes, and reduces casting problems in strong crosswinds or headwinds. This series of reels is also versatile, capable of casting lures from five grams, making it ideal for black bass and pike with medium lures, but also for zander and perch with smaller and lighter lures. Once you try the SG10, you'll never go back.

Features:
• EDP painted aluminum frame and housings
• Precise brake knob
• Separate stainless steel spool holder on the 250 model
• External centrifugal brake
• DuraGrease
• 9+1 steel ball bearings (including two ARB Japanese BB)
• Carbon handle
• Two ratios available
• Line-ID
• Hinged housing on size 100
• Audible drag (clicker)

The adjustment of the weights on the size 100 casting reels is done by opening the side cover. The weights slide a few millimeters along their guide (there is a notch). By moving the weights away from the spool axis, you increase the centrifugal force and the spool spins more freely. A spool that is too free can cause the rotation to accelerate, resulting in a "backlash". Therefore, the weights must be moved according to the inertia of the lure, wind conditions, and the angler's skill. As a general rule, you balance the weights. There are thus four positions:
* No weights engaged
* Two opposite weights engaged
* Three weights engaged in a triangle
* All weights engaged

On the 250 sizes, the centrifugal brake system is magnetic. By turning the notched knob located opposite the handle, you move a series of small magnets closer to or farther from the spool. In position zero, the spool is completely free, in position 10 it is very braked. The angler, depending on their skill, the lure's aerodynamics, or the wind direction, will thus be able to very finely adjust the braking of the spool's rotation, maximizing casting distances while reducing the risk of "backlashes".
